The exhibition, held in part at the Museo dell'aeronautica Gianni Caproni, Trento and partly at Base Thunder, Folgaria, brings on display for the first time some limited but significant – – aviation advertising collection of Cold War-era owned by Luigino Caliaro.

Luigino Caliaro, said photographer and journalist for the aeronautical sector, involved both nationally and internationally, always passionate about aviation history and in particular the military, started by chance collecting aviation advertising in 2002 during an AirShow in the United States, when he purchased an original copy of 1943 "The Saturday Evening Post containing the advertisement of a P-38 Lightning fighter of Lockheed. Since then the collection has greatly enriched and consists today of over 2,500 advertising pages, covering a period that ranges from the second world war to the fall of the Berlin wall.

Exposure, in terms of advertising pages appeared on English-speaking foreign magazines, represents a valid support in the reconstruction of the historical period of the cold war, with reference to what happened in the aeronautical sector
In particular, the aircraft section – held at the Museo dell'aeronautica Gianni Caproni Trento – provides an overview of some of the main combat aircraft that have characterized the years of the cold war. The choice of display advertising and subsequent aircraft illustrated discussion follows a chronological and typological grouping of aircraft of the same class, or dealing with aircraft that have featured special moments of aviation history.
The missile section of the route – held at Base Thunder, Folgaria – develops instead offering an overview of some of the main armaments, grouped by category and use, that made up the Western arsenal from World War II to the fall of the Berlin wall.

The exhibition "advertising in the times of the cold war" comes from an idea the same Caliaro who sponsored generously and competently, choosing the Gianni Caproni Air Museum and Thunder which first institutional subjects exhibiting his collection, already become of great interest in the United States.
